Vodacom provides
world-class services to more than 24
million customers in South Africa, Tanzania, the
Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lesotho and Mozambique. The
recent introduction of mobile number portability to the South
African cellular market has increased the focus of service
providers on converting prepaid customers to contract
agreements. This challenge brings with it a requirement for
increased scrutiny in credit management practices.
In order to
overcome these obstacles Vodacom has signed this RiskMentor
contract with PIC Solutions to take advantage of PIC’s credit
risk experience with telecommunications providers across the
Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Through this RiskMentor
contract, Vodacom will make use of resources from many
areas of PIC Solutions’ expertise, including credit risk
management consulting, analytics and software services, for all
their credit risk initiatives.
In addition,
Vodacom has access to PIC Solutions’ range of turnkey offerings
including risk management
functions, capacity planning, new and existing account
profitability analyses and fraud management solutions.
These services are designed to allow Vodacom to capitalise on
PIC Solutions’ expertise, enabling them to implement effective
policies and procedures focused on delivering bottom-line
business benefits.
Veran Kathan,
Managing Executive: Credit and Risk at Vodacom, comments,
“The telecommunications industry is increasingly competitive and
Vodacom is committed to providing innovative products that
enhance our customers’ communications experience. PIC Solutions
understands the dynamics of our industry and this RiskMentor
contract provides us with the unique consulting
expertise needed to address the challenges we face in profitably
growing our client base.”
Stephen Leonard,
Managing Director of PIC Solutions, adds, “This RiskMentor
contract is designed to provide Vodacom with the
consulting expertise to address industry dynamics, fraud
management and to improve client acquisitions. We look forward
to further developing our relationship with Vodacom and adding
significant value to their new business initiatives.”
