David McAlpin, Director:
Chief Executive Officer |

David has extensive
international and local business experience and has held
senior executive positions in the Massmart Group, CNA,
Forza and the Lewis Group. During his 7 years with the
Massmart Group, David held the positions of Commercial
Director (where he was responsible for IT and Systems
Management), and Managing Director of Dions Stores.
David was the Chief Executive Officer of Forza (a listed
luxury motor and outdoor leisure lifestyle distribution
group) for 4 years and was the Managing Director of CNA for
3 years where he was responsible for the turnaround and
repositioning of the company. He holds a Bachelor of
Commerce Degree from Rhodes University, an MBA from the
University of Cape Town and is an Associate of the
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (A.C.M.A.).

Ian Read, Director |

Ian Read has over 20 years
experience in the credit risk and management industry.
For the first 10 years of his career, he gained
experience in both retail and commercial lending
practices at numerous Great Britain and international
financial service organisations, including National
Westminster Bank plc and JCB Credit and Associates
Capital Corporation (Citicards). Prior to joining PIC
Solutions, Ian worked extensively within the
international credit risk consulting and ICT marketplace
for various companies including Experian, Jaywing and
Fair Isaac. He has shared this extensive knowledge and
expertise with clients in over 20 different countries,
offering them advice on best practice consumer/SME risk
management and credit marketing methodologies. Ian holds
the UK Finance Houses Diploma with Merit and is a member
of the UK Institute of Directors.

Simon Trupp,
Director |

In August 2008 Simon was appointed as Executive Director, PIC Solutions, having joined the firm in August 2000 as a risk management specialist. For more than a decade, Simon has advised financial services executives and credit strategy across the lending lifecycle. This extensive experience in leading-edge advanced scoring model development, portfolio analysis and management techniques have delivered more than R1bn in realised value to South African lenders. Internationally, Simon has developed scoring models for numerous clients, including HSBC Asset Finance, Egg (leading UK Internet bank), and was responsible for the development and implementation of the first data-driven StrategyDesigner TRIAD strategies to be implemented in the world. He holds a B.Eng (Hons) from Sheffield University and is a member of the UK and SA Institutes of Credit Management, the South African Statistical Association and the Operations Research Society of South Africa.

Shereen La Fleur,
Director |

Shereen La Fleur, Executive Director at PIC Solutions, joined the firm in October 2006 as Director of Business Support Services. As an Executive Director, Shereen ensures that the company is operated according to the highest levels of governance and that the shareholder value in the business is maintained. The directors are collectively responsible for developing and ensuring adherence to the strategic direction of the business. Shereen is a registered Chartered Accountant (SAICA) and has developed over 10 years experience in strategic business supporting roles including Finance, Admin, HR and ICT. She has held numerous positions in the financial industry, including Chief Financial Officer at Boschendal Wines, Financial Director of an ABIL subsidiary group, and a Senior Executive of Cape Metrorail. Shereen holds a B.Com and Post Graduate Degree in Accounting from UCT and has attended the Senior Executive Development Programme sponsored by Government and the United States Agency for International Development. Shereen is a member of the Black Management Forum (BMF) and the Business Woman’s Association (BWA). |
