The Senior Consultant is the primary liaison that consults with clients regarding day-to-day service, project requirements and scheduling, delivery and results analysis. Their focus is to deliver significant ‘bottom line’ business recommendations and improvements that can be implemented in a realistic timeframe to our clients. Typically, assignment will involve project management, onsite investigation, analysis of available information, formulation of findings and recommendations, report writing, and presentation of results.
 
Senior Consultants are expected to contribute and participate in industry conferences, as well as travel to client and alliance partner sites in South Africa and the EMEA Region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead individual and team analytical assignments independently

  • Delivery of empirical or expert modelling solutions

  • Provide best practice modelling advise to a wide range of consumer credit organisations, domestically and internationally

  • Provide day-to-day analytical assistance for multiple clients

  • Initiate, plan and deliver client-site visits and assignments

  • Analyse reports and scorecard results

  • Write ad hoc analytical reports

  • Contribute and participate in industry conferences

  • Develop close relationships with clients to identify additional areas for development and assistance

  • Work closely with other departments on joint projects, such as software and consulting

  • Train junior staff on scorecard development and predictive modelling techniques

  • Lead analytical R&D projects

  • Management of people

  • Present at Company seminars

  • Be able to fill the role of Analytical Reviewer for other projects

Requirements

Knowledge

  • SAS or similar analytical software

  • Detailed understanding of the development process of application and behaviour scorecards, as well as other types of predictive models used in the credit and marketing areas. Experience in:


  • ú     Application Risk Scorecards
    ú     Customer and account level Behaviour Scorecard models
    ú     Attrition and Propensity to Spend Behaviour Scorecards
    ú     Response Modelling
    ú      Bureau Models
     

  • Knowledge of statistical methods used to develop scorecards, specifically Logistic Regression and Reject Inference techniques

  • Knowledge of tracking and re-alignment of scorecards

  • An understanding of account management principles and technologies

  • Understanding of the credit life cycle and the credit risk industry

  • Other Software: Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education

  • Preferred minimum of BA/BSc in business, statistics, maths or related field

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in consumer credit risk management, with specific focus on the development of application and behaviour scorecards.

  • Consumer credit experience to include either:

ú     Bankcards
ú     Retail credit
ú     Personal loans
ú     Current accounts
ú     Customer level management
