Assignments may be conducted on a stand-alone project basis, with fixed costs and agreed deliverables and milestones, or as part of an ongoing retainer based contract. Typically, assignments will involve project management, onsite investigation, analysis of available information, formulation of findings and recommendations, report writing, and presentation of results.
 
The Consultant is one of the liaisons that consult with clients regarding day-to-day service, project requirements and scheduling, delivery and results analysis. They will be responsible for meeting the client’s expectations on projects that they are allocated to budget and timetable.
 
Consultants may be expected to contribute and participate in industry conferences, as well as travel to client and alliance partner sites in South Africa and the EMEA Region. PIC Solutions provides consulting solutions to over 100 clients in South Africa and the EMEA region from offices based in Cape Town , Dubai and Johannesburg.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in team consulting assignments

  • Provide best practice consulting advice to a wide range of consumer credit organisations, domestically and internationally

  • Provide day-to-day consulting assistance for multiple clients

  • Initiate, plan and deliver client-site visits and assignments

  • Analyse reports and strategy results

  • Write ad hoc consulting reports

  • Contribute to annual strategy review reports

  • Contribute and participate in industry conferences

  • Develop close relationships with clients to identify additional areas for development and assistance.

  • Work closely with other departments on joint projects, such as software and scoring.

  • Principles of scoring (Application and Behaviour)

  • An understanding of operational credit management functions and tools:

ú     Card issue/renewal
ú     Credit product terms and conditions

Education

  • Ideally a BA/BSc in business, economics, statistics, or related field

  • Ideally credit industry qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years in consumer credit risk management, operations, collections or applications processing

  • Application of scoring, application processing, account management or collections decision systems

  • Consumer credit experience to include one or more of the following:

ú     Credit cards
ú     Retail credit

ú     Personal loans
ú     Current accounts
ú     Customer level management
 

Languages

  • Second language preferred

Training

  • The initial training period will be for 3-4 months in the Cape Town office, working closely with a Senior Consultant.

  • After 3-4 months, the Consultant will then be allocated specific projects as primary responsibility.

  • Training will continue on-the-job and via mentoring and would typically be completed after 12 months, when the Consultant would be expected to service a full complement of assignments.

  • This role can lead to the position of Senior Consultant.
